Title:

Networks and Systems for Distributed Quantum Computing

Abstract:

Quantum computing has become one of the hottest topics in theoretical
computer science, theoretical physics, and experimental physics in the
last decade, and has begun affecting the agenda of computer systems
researchers as well. ?Despite the counterintuitive nature of quantum
algorithms, the system and network architectures needed to realize
quantum computation draw heavily on principles of classical systems.
I will describe recent results in network-level issues such as
optimization of quantum repeaters and a quantum form of Dijkstra’s
algorithm for path selection in heterogeneous networks, as well as
applications of distributed quantum systems including distributed
quantum arithmetic and the integration of quantum key distribution
with the Internet standard IPsec/IKE encryption suite.
