I am Luza Castano from Universidad Coruniversitaria in Ibagu=E9, Colombia. I studied Modern Languages, hold an MA in Comparative Literature and I'm working on a doctorate in Pedagogy. I have two main interests: on one hand, in developing writing skills to college students and using technologies to teach reading and writing. Also, in the use of advanced technologies in higher education, especialy in distance education for rural areas.

I am currently a research professor in the graduate program in environmental engineering at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. I have just returned to my country after spending over a decade working as an environmental management consultant in the USA and Mexico, and as an instructor at UCLA-Ext. The main focus of my current work is pollution prevention, as well as environmental regulatory development and institutional strengthening. I am interested in exploring the future possibilities in higher education and continuing education within a multidisciplinary framework, such as the one we have at the Universidad de los Andes.
