I am working at the University of Barcelona in the Faculty of Education. My main research area is the use of new technologies in education. Currently I am involved in a project of the University of Barcelona about Higher education. We have created a web page to give information about Higher education: bibliographie, associations, meetings, etc (www.ub.es/forum/info.htm) and we have created a moderated list (forum-ub@ariadna.d5.ub.es) about higher education. This list started on February 1997 with the purpose of facilitate the discussion about the main problems of our work in the University and to try to find new solutions, new directions, etc. Periodically we propose a general topic to discuss, for instance, nowdays we are talking about "Evaluation of student´s learning", and we select three or four contribution amonth teacher that are involved in this field proposing new experiences, reflections, etc. We send the text to the members of the list and we discuss during two weeks the contribution. A part of this contribution, any member of the list can introduce one topic, doubts, questions, etc.

First let me apologize, my English is poor, it is not my language. My name is Pilar Rivero. I am a graduate in History of University of Zaragoza (Spain), and I am finishing my PhD in Ancient History (Roman Republic). I am responsable of Ancient History web site at my University. I'm interested in open distance learning, and so, I am trying to set up a multilingual Latin literature course via internet with a Brazilian colleague from UFPR (Curitiba), where I have been worked. I think internet have to contribute to make easy a transnational work, particularly teaching work and students access to documentation and courses guided by specialists.
