Hello everyone!!! Great to be here!!! I am a international student here at Hiroshima University, currently doing a research at the Laboratory of Science Education. My interests include the use of the internet in teaching Biology to Filipino students, biotechnology and cooperative learning.

I am joining this forum with the hope that I will learn from everybody!

Hi,

I am researcher in computer science, from the Institute of Information Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam. Currently, I am at JAIST (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) as a visiting associate professor. My research interest is artificial intelligence, machine learning and knowledge discovery. Also, I am interested (and have worked) in intelligent tutoring system and education in developing countries. I am member of IFIP WG 9.4 ``Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries'.

After obtaining a MS. Degree in Computer Science from KEIO University of Japan, Ms.Okawa had been working in the computer industry about 11 years including Digital Equipment Corporation and Sun Microsystems in the software design and development and project management area. She is now working at the KEIO University / Research Institute at SFC as a researcher. Her main interest is usage of the Internet technology for the higher education.

I'm Aya Yoshida, an Associate Professor at National Institute of Multimedia Education, JAPAN (located in Chiba-city.) I'm in Sociology of Education, especially higher education. In my section at the Institute, we are conducting a research regarding higher eudcation using multimedia in terms of cost-effect (not only finalcial meaning of each higher educaiton institution but aslo educational effect of student attainment, educational opportunity, and etc.) This research project has just started and we are now looking for scholarly papers concerning this theme and examples of higher educaiton institutions using multimedia. We would very appreciate if anyone would tell us information regarding this theme. Thanks in advance.
